Missionary Dinner

Tomorrow I am having the missionaries over. I used to be good at feeding them every Thursday, but with student teaching I quit doing that. So it has been forever since we've fed them. I'm making lasagna, salad (always makes everything go further), corn (my psycho family always has to have corn with lasagna, spaghetti, ziti, etc.), French bread, and ice cream dessert. The reason I wanted to post about feeding the missionaries tomorrow is to post a great recipe. I love making ice cream dessert because it takes 5 minutes to make and does not tie up your oven like brownies, cakes, or cookies. It is also very kid friendly. Carson helped me make it tonight.

Ice Cream Dessert

Ingredients:
12 ice cream sandwiches
8 oz. cool whip
caramel sauce for drizzling
chocolate syrup for drizzling
heath bar pieces or mini chocolate chips

Directions:

Unwrap ice cream sandwiches. Break them apart and put into 9 x 13 pan (or whatever size you'd like). After all ice cream sandwiches are broken up, flatten with hands to make an even surface.

Dollop the cool whip on top. Spread evenly. Drizzle chocolate syrup and caramel.

Top with heath bar pieces or mini chocolate chips. Freeze for 5 + hours.

I usually make mine the night before and let it freeze overnight. I pull it out of the freezer about 5-10 minutes before dessert time. This way it's easier to cut. It is so great because my dessert is done and I don't have to worry about it tomorrow.
